I’m sharing this weekly post as a gift for everyone on the Noticing Matters list. I wish you an easeful and nourishing close to the year, and look forward to what will emerge through me to share with you in 2023. Thank you for being part of our collective work to slow down and notice more.
I hope the poem below meets you where you are.
love+light, Melissa
At this time of review and reflection, I’ve been held by the energy of enchantment. It feels as continuous and life-giving as the loops of its form/ing. I’m discovering it to be an endless playground beyond anything I imagined it might be — a place to be inside and alongside chants not only to see and learn from them, but also to see and learn how to create in the energies of the moment.
Enchantment delights to be a guide. It’s been guiding my writing to be of listening and letting go. Here’s what I heard this week from my channeled enchantments.
Hope is a Chant
The enchantment of hope is to be right now as you want it to be.
Inside your heart,
breathe it in,
hold your wish as what you know.
Become your whispers,
feel your reach fold
into rhythm, see
the curves of your echo—
witness the softness of it all.
You are soft. What you hold is soft.
There is light and lift and this
is what we are creating.
Hold hope lightly. Let it
sift through you,
learn to sculpt with air.
Air is earth.
Hope is how we see.
Not wish. Not tomorrow.
Not flimsy or faint.
Continuous spelling,
rooted webs of sky,
rejoicing light.
