The crossing over from April 30 into May 1 is one of my favorite moments—of time, location, being.
Last year I stood on a beach as the sun rose off the Northwestern coast of Ireland in Co. Donegal. I drew a labyrinth in the sand with my toes and I walked its spirals as I hummed.
